Reinhardt, Webber Advance to Men's Volleyball Tournament Final

KINGSPORT, Tenn. - Reinhardt and Webber won their semifinal matches to advance to the 2024 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Volleyball Tournament championship match.

Top-seeded Reinhardt battled No. 4 seed St. Andrews in a hotly-contested 3-0 contest. No. 2 seed Webber capped the day with a 3-0 win over third-seeded Life.

The tournament is being held at the Tribe Athletic Complex in Kingsport, Tenn.

Although recording a sweep, Reinhardt had a time deposing of St. Andrews. The Eagles won the first two sets 25-13 and 25-12, but the Knights would not bow out easily. The third set had to go past 25 as Reinhardt eventually won 28-26 to complete the sweep. Alex Sanchez logged 19 digs, while Gabriel Gutierrez hammered home 11 kills. Dakota Hotaling paced the St. Andrews offense with 20 assists to go with five digs.

Webber and Life stood toe-to-toe all match, but it was Webber who pulled out the 25-23, 25-18, 25-19 victory. Thoralf Schmelzer delivered 11 kills with Carson Barnes adding seven kills and six digs. David Barcan led Life with 12 kills.

Reinhardt and Webber will play for the tournament title on Saturday at 1 p.m.
