Week 2: AAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week
WALESKA, Ga. - Ellen-Mary Kearney of Milligan and Emma Barnes of Montreat are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, the league announced Monday.
This is the second edition of the weekly honors for the 2026 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Jan. 26.
AAC Track Athlete of the Week
Ellen-Mary Kearney - Milligan - Senior
- Placed fourth in the 1000 at the Mondo College Invitational.
- Registered a time of 2:48.45, earning her an NAIA 'B' Standard and ranking her No. 1 in the NAIA in the event.
- Helped the 4x800 relay team to a time of 9:36.58, which ranks third in the NAIA.
- This is her first weekly honor this season.
AAC Field Athletes of the Week
Emma Barnes - Montreat - Senior
- Won the pentathlon at the Tryon Winter Invitational.
- Set the school record in the event with 3,176, surpassing the old mark by 260 points.
- Ranks 12th in the NAIA in the pentathlon.
- Beat 19 NCAA Division I athletes in the pentathlon.
- This is her first weekly award this season.
