Week 11: AAC Women's Volleyball Players of the Week

WALESKA, Ga. - Zcearia James of Columbia International is the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Volleyball Attacker of the Week, while Lanie Hawley of Pikeville and Debra Shephard of Columbia are the Defender and Setter of the Week, respectively.

The league announced the awards on Monday.

This is the 11th edition of the awards for the 2025 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Nov. 10.

AAC Attacker of the Week
Zcearia James - Columbia International - Freshman

  • Averaged 3.10 kills per set as she had 31 in 10 sets.
  • Posted a .468 hitting percentage in helping CIU to a 3-0 record.
  • Added 5 digs and 7 blocks.
  • This is her first weekly honor of the season.

AAC Defender of the Week
Lanie Hawley - Pikeville - Junior

  • Averaged 1.70 blocks and 1.90 digs per set as Pikeville went 3-0 on the week.
  • Posted 17 blocks and 19 digs on the week.
  • Had 6 blocks and 8 digs in a 3-0 win over Tennessee Wesleyan.
  • Logged 8 blocks and 3 digs in a 3-1 win over Bryan.
  • Added 23 kills, a .409 hitting percentage, and 9 aces.
  • This is her second weekly honor of the season.

AAC Setter of the Week
Debra Shephard - Columbia - Junior

  • Averaged 12.56 assists per set.
  • Had a school-record 64 assists in a 3-2 win over Truett McConnell.
  • Logged 113 assists in 9 sets on the week.
  • Recorded 1 double-double.
  • Also had 14 digs, 2 blocks, 2 kills, and 2 aces.
  • This is her first weekly honor of the season.
