WALESKA, Ga. - Owen Stewart of Montreat and RJ Manginello of Montreat are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Basketball Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week.

The league announced the awards on Monday.

This is the 13th edition of the awards for the 2025-26 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Feb. 23.

AAC Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week
Owen Stewart - Montreat - Freshman

  • Averaged 6.7 defensive rebounds per game and had 9 steals and 1 block as Montrea went 3-0 on the week.
  • 20 of his 32 rebounds were on the defensive end.
  • Averaged 11.0 points per game and dished out 5 assists.
  • This is his first weekly honor of the season.

AAC Men's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week
RJ Manginello - Montreat - Junior

  • Averaged 27.7 points per game as Montreat went 3-0 on the week.
  • Shot 62.2 percent (23-of-37 shots) from the field and went 11-for-17 (64.7 percent) from long range.
  • Went 26-of-27 (96.3 percent) from the foul line.
  • Posted a high of 30 points in a 76-73 win against Truett McConnell.
  • Averaged 3.3 rebounds per game.
  • Also had 5 assists and 4 steals.
  • This is his second weekly honor of the season.
