Montreat's Stewart Earns NAIA Defensive Player of the Week Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Freshman Owen Stewart of Montreat secures multiple career highs to cap off a solid week on the court to earn the Gared Performance Sports Systems NAIA Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week award.

Stewart's week kept getting better and better. In his first two games of the week, he notched a total of 14 boards, four steals, and two assists. In Stewart's third game of last week, he pulled in 18 rebounds and ran away with five steals, both of which were career highs.

Overall, he played 88 minutes, secured a total of 32 boards, nine steals, one block, and dished out five assists.

Stewart and the Cavaliers are back in action on Feb. 18 when they travel to Dayton, Tenn., for an AAC matchup with Bryan College (Tenn.). Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
