Keiser's Desko Named NAIA Coach of the Year; AAC Places 13 on All-America Team
WALESKA, Ga. - Jeff Desko of Keiser is the NAIA Men's Lacrosse Coach of the Year, the NAIA announced in May.
The 2025 NAIA Men's Lacrosse All-America Team was also announced, and the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) landed 13 student-athletes on the squad.
The All-America Committee, comprised of men's lacrosse coaches from across the country, makes the All-America selections. The list comprises 13 members for the first, second, and third teams.
After multiple National Invitational titles for the Seahawks, Desko was able to add a National Championship title to his resume, leading KU to the first red banner of the national championship era in the NAIA. Desko and company were a perfect 4-0 at home, and 7-0 at neutral sites this season, taking just one loss overall back in March. Ranking second in the nation in goals per game as a squad at 17.87, the Seahawks cruised through the regular season before securing the golden goal overtime victory in the national championship game.
AAC placed seven players on the first team. Earning the honors were Nick Sheaffer of Webber International, Christofer Tyson of Life, AJ Badik of Keiser, Nick Kava of Cumberlands, Gabe Schwaiger of Cumberlands, Greyson Davidson of Webber International, and Ty Grooms of Cumberlands.
Making the second team are Ryan Rundle of Keiser, Benjamin Shackelford of Reinhardt, Taylor Long of Cumberlands, Shane Cassidy of Keiser, and Liam Murphy of Webber International. Vincent Cerasuolo of Keiser earned a spot on the third.
