Life's Jackson Named NAIA Wrestler of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo.- Gio Jackson, hailing from Life (Ga.), put on a sensational performance last weekend at the Georgia Open, claiming the title in the 197 bracket after defeating several ranked opponents to snag the NAIA Men's Wrestler of the Week distinction.
Jackson's first statement win came in the semifinals, where he took down a 2025 NAIA All-American, No. 19-ranked Jett McCauley of Keiser (Fla.), in an 8-4 decision. He then capped his run with a thrilling 6-5 upset over No. 2 Kasten Grape of Southeastern (Fla.) in the finals to claim the championship at 197.
On the day, he posted one win by fall and four by decision.
Life (Ga.) men's wrestling returns to action at the Grand View Open on Saturday, Nov. 15, in Des Moines, Iowa.
