Montreat's Stade Wins Individual Title; Milligan Claims Men's Cross Country Championship
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Ryan Stade of Montreat led from wire-to-wire and Montreat claimed the top two spots, but Milligan came away with the 2025 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Cross Country Championship on Friday.
The meet was held at Sequoyah Park in Knoxville, Tenn.
Stade led comfortably throughout the race, winning by 18 seconds with a time of 24:37.44. Teammate Brock Lauer was second, but Milligan claimed the next four spots as well as ninth to win the team crown with 27 points.
Montreat took second with 54 points, while SCAD Atlanta (65 points), Reinhardt (106 points), and Bryan (184 points) rounded out the top five.
Stade took home Runner of the Year honors, while Lauer is the Newcomer of the Year and Rowen Moses-Bryan of Milligan is the Freshman of the Year. Milligan also claimed Coaching Staff of the Year.
Making the All-Conference First Team are Stade, Lauer, Bryson Lewis of Milligan, Joshua Hale of Milligan, Winston Telford of Milligan, Aaron Gottlied of Milligan, and Trent Wells of SCAD Atlanta.
Earning All-Conference Second Team honors are Ryan Hunter of Spartanburg Methodist, Marti Molins of Milligan, Braniff Mahoney of Reinhardt, Moser-Bryan, Paul Moore of SCAD Atlanta, William Karim of SCAD Atlanta, and Cormac Dow of SCAD Atlanta.
Making the All-Freshmen Team are Moser-Bryan, Evan Holbrook of Milligan, John Dodson of Reinhardt, Booker Lahue of SCAD Atlanta, Elijah Eppley of Montreat, Hugh Petat-Hemono of Montreat, and Tayven Guthrie of Bryan.
