COLUMBUS, Ga. - Tennessee Wesleyan showed plenty of fight, but it was knocked out of the 2022 NAIA Softball World Series after suffering a pair of 1-0 defeats.
Tennessee Wesleyan wrapped up the season 37-9 overall.
On Friday, Tennessee Wesleyan stood toe-to-toe with Grand View and outhit the Vikings 4-1 on the day. However, Grand View's lone hit was a solo home run by Alyx Witt.
Cheyenne Strong went the distance in the circle and fanned eight with only one walk. Courtney Sneed lined two of the Bulldogs' four hits.
Tennessee Wesleyan's season came to an end on Saturday with a 1-0 loss to Oregon Tech.
Both teams had two apiece, but it was Oregon Tech that scored the game's only run in the first inning. Both of the Owls' hits came in the first inning, resulting in the run.
Strong shut down Oregon Tech from then on, allowing two walks and striking out four.
