SCAD Atlanta Wins AAC Women's Golf Tournament Title; Milligan's Castle Claims Individual Crown
ACWORTH, Ga. - A super second round propelled SCAD Atlanta to the lead, and the Bees rode that momentum to the 2025 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Golf Tournament championship on Tuesday.
The two-day, three-round event was held at the Governors Towne Club in Acworth, Ga.
SCAD Atlanta sat third after the first round at 14-over, but the Bees shot a 5-over 293 to take the lead after two rounds. SCAD Atlanta led by eight strokes after two rounds. The Bees maintained that consistency to finish at 38-over 902
Truett McConnell finished second at 47-over 911, with Milligan (916) and Pikeville (923) rounding out the top four. Making up the rest of the field were Reinhardt (1071), Tennessee Wesleyan (1086), Bluefield (1109), and Montreat (1142).
Individually, Milligan's Kate Castle dominated the field as she posted a 4-under 212, finishing six strokes ahead of the field. She was the only player to shoot under par for the tournament.
Joining her on the All-Tournament Team are Mariana Herrera of SCAD Atlanta (218), Barbara Rodrigues of SCAD Atlanta (225), Carly Crooks of Pikeville (225), Audrey Grace Holder of Truett McConnell (226), Martha Sanchez of SCAD Atlanta (226), and Gracie Doke of Truett McConnell (226).
The full list of all-conference honorees will be released on Wednesday.
With the win, SCAD Atlanta earns an automatic berth to the NAIA National Championship, which is set for May 13-16 at the Eagle Crest Golf Club in Ypsilanti, Mich.
