SCAD Atlanta Wins Third Consecutive Women's Golf Title
ACWORTH, Ga. - SCAD Atlanta claimed the team title at the 2026 Appalachian Athletic Conference Women's Golf Direct Qualifier, finishing at 51-over-par across three rounds at Governors Towne Club in Acworth, Georgia.
The event, held April 27-29 and hosted by Reinhardt, featured 11 teams competing over 54 holes, with SCAD Atlanta separating itself from the field through steady play in every round.
SCAD Atlanta opened with a 25-over team score in the first round, then strengthened its position with the tournament's best second-round mark at 12-over. That gave SCAD Atlanta a cumulative 37-over total entering the final round and control of the leaderboard. The team closed at 14-over in Round 3 to finish at 51-over and secure the championship with 123.29 team points.
This is the third year in a row that SCAD Atlanta has won the direct qualifier event.
Truett McConnell finished second at 73-over after rounds of 26-over, 19-over, and 28-over. Milligan followed closely in third at 74-over. After a difficult opening round of 43-over, Milligan improved to 13-over in Round 2 and 18-over in Round 3 to climb back into contention near the top of the standings. Pikeville placed fourth at 76-over, posting round totals of 30-over, 29-over, and 17-over.
The rest of the team standings showed a wider gap behind the top four. Brenau finished fifth at 204-over, followed by Tennessee Wesleyan at 206-over and Montreat at 280-over. Spartanburg Methodist and Bryan (TN) tied for eighth at 345-over. Reinhardt, the host, placed 10th at 430-over, and Bluefield (VA) finished 11th at 497-over.
Amanda Jurander of SCAD Atlanta claimed the individual medalist honors, winning with a 6-over 222. Joining her on the All-Tournament Team were Holly Lau of SCAD Atlanta (9-over 225), Abby Bryant of Truett McConnell (10-over 226), Renee Crooks of Pikeville (12-over 228), and Brianna Bassett of Truett McConnell (15-over 231).
With the tournament win, SCAD Atlanta earned an automatic berth to the NAIA Women's Golf National Championship, which is set for May 19-22 at Eagle Crest Golf Club in Ypsilanti, Mich.
