Week 3: AAC Women's Soccer Players of the Week
WALESKA, Ga. - Danica Wittmann of Truett McConnell and Jayla Boyd of Pikeville are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Soccer Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
This is the third edition of the awards for the 2025 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Sept. 15.
AAC Defensive Player of the Week
Danica Wittmann - Truett McConnell - Sophomore
- Made 16 saves on the week in helping Truett McConnell to a 1-0-1 record.
- Tallied 10 saves in a 0-0 tie with Southeastern (Fla.).
- Added 6 saves in a 3-1 win over Montreat.
- This is her second weekly honor of the season.
AAC Offensive Player of the Week
Jayla Boyd - Pikeville - Junior
- Collected 4 goals and an assist on the week as Pikeville went 1-0-1.
- Scored 2 goals and dished out an assist in a 3-3 tie with WVU Tech.
- Netted the game-tying goal against WVU Tech with less than 2 minutes remaining.
- Added 2 goals, including the game-winner, in a 5-0 win over Bryan.
- This is her first weekly honor of the season.
