One for the Thumb: Milligan Wins Fifth Consecutive Women's Swimming Championship
KINGSPORT, Tenn. - Milligan captured its fifth consecutive Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Swimming Championship, finishing with 921 total points.
The three-day event was held in Kingsport, Tenn., at the Kingsport Aquatic Center in the HMG Competition Pool.
Rounding out the team scores, Brenau finished second with 677 points, Columbia third with 334 points, and Tennessee Southern fourth with 208 points. Pikeville (200 points) and WVU Tech (115 points) rounded out the field.
Sophie Bell of Brenau was named the Most Outstanding Swimmer, Abigail Maniace of Milligan is the Freshman of the Year, and Grace Boyce of Columbia is the Newcomer of the Year. Mandi Bell of Brenau is the Coach of the Year.

- 200 backstroke - Bell (Brenau), 2:05.97
- 100 freestyle - Madison Akbari (Milligan), 53.43
- 200 breaststroke - Boyce (Columbia), 2:24.90
- 200 butterfly - Maniace (Milligan), 2:08.37
- 400 freestyle relay - Milligan (Akbari, Emily Dubes, Emily Newman, Maniace), 3:36.35
