Women's Tennis Awards Announced

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The 2025 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Tennis All-Conference Team and awards were announced on Monday, and Shalimar Talbi of SCAD Atlanta is the Player of the Year. 

The awards were voted and selected by the women's tennis coaches of the AAC.

Also receiving individual accolades were Emma Ackermann of Brenau as the Freshman of the Year, Ruslana Kovalenko of Tennessee Wesleyan as the Newcomer of the Year, and Menford Owusu of SCAD Atlanta as the Coach of the Year. Tennessee Wesleyan was also awarded the regular-season trophy and banner.

In all, 10 were named to the All-AAC first team and five to the second team.

Eight were named to the Champions of Character Team, with dozens making the All-Academic Team.
