Week 5: AAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week
WALESKA, Ga. - Heather Murphy of Montreat and Madison Kitson of Brenau are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, the league announced Monday.
This is the fifth edition of the weekly honors for the 2026 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Feb. 16.
AAC Track Athlete of the Week
Heather Murphy - Montreat - Sophomore
- Won the 3000 at the Camel City Distance.
- Posted a time of 9:40.89, earning her an NAIA 'A' Standard.
- Ranks fourth-fastest in the event in the NAIA.
- This is her first weekly honor this season.
AAC Field Athletes of the Week
Madison Kitson - Brenau - Sophomore
- Recorded an NAIA 'A' Standard in the long jump, winning the event at the Life U Super Bowl Indoor/Outdoor.
- Her leap of 5.99 meters ties her for the third-best jump in the NAIA this season.
- Also placed second in the triple jump with a distance of 11.35 meters.
- This is her second weekly award this season.
